Review by hotel critic
I recently spent a brief yet memorable stay at a small hotel in Istanbul, ideal for those who prioritize location over luxury. Nestled in the city's heart, it allowed me to explore the rich tapestry of history, which as an avid history professor, I truly appreciated. Pros: the friendly staff were a standout feature, swiftly addressing any needs. The air-conditioned room, while compact, served its purpose well, providing a flat-screen TV and adequate heating for comfort. I was pleased to find a 24-hour reception, which was reassuring for a late-night return after exploring the historic sites. The luxurious aspects were minimal. The breakfast was limited, lacking variety and creativity, which may be a concern for those with higher culinary expectations.
